Facts at a glance

Surgical Procedure
The alar of the nose is reduced and suture in its position, aim is to make the balance of nasal tip and alar.
Duration of Operation
Half hour
Risks and Complications
A little bleeding is common during the first few days following surgery, patient may continue to feel some stuffiness for several weeks. Patient must try not to blow nose for a week or so, while the tissues heal.
 Alaplasty
After Care
Nasal packing, it will be removed after a few days and will feel much more comfortable. By the end of one or, occasionally, two weeks, all dressings, splints, and stitches should be removed.
Recovery
Most alaplasty patients are up and about within two days, and able to return to school or sedentary work a week or so following surgery.
Result
Patient nose will begin to look better and spirits will improve. Within a week or two.
Hospital Admission
Most patients do not need to stay in the hospital overnight.
Anesthetic
The operation is done under either local anesthetic (you are awake) or general anesthetic (you are asleep). Most patients are happier when they are asleep.
Pre Operative Care

Inform us about any allergies, any serious medical condition(s), and all medications you are taking (both prescription and non-prescription).

Avoid aspirin and aspirin-containing medicines for two weeks prior to surgery.

Post Operative Care
Your surgeon will give you more specific guidelines for gradually resuming your normal activities.
You will still need to be careful not blow your nose for about two weeks, and avoid bumps to the nose for about six weeks. Eyeglasses should be taped to the forehead, off the bridge of the nose, for the first month. Avoid strenuous activity (jogging, swimming, bending, sexual relations-any activity that increases your blood pressure) for two to three weeks. Avoid hitting or rubbing your nose, or getting it sunburned, for eight weeks. Be gentle when washing your face and hair or using cosmetics.

Preparation

Passport and Visa
Please forward the copy of your passport to us before the arriving date.
US citizens can call San Francisco information (415) 744-4444 or you can search under "U.S. Government offices" in the white pages to find the phone number of your local passport office.
For most tourists, a stay of no more than 30 days does not require a VISA. For further information on Thailand's entry/exit requirements, please contact the Thai consulate in your country or your travel agent.
Flight Arrangement
Our recommended airlines are Thai International, Northwest, Lufthansa, Singapore, and EVA which has wide seats.
Expenses
Surgical fee is $USD 800
If you are HIV positive, then you are a risk to hospital personel. For this reason you need to pay an extra 60% to the original charge.
Airport Immigration and Customs
Please present the supporting documents confirming the scheduled operation upon request. Please do not carry any unnecessary drugs or dangerous objects in your luggage.
