| "My Experience with Dr. Saran
When I started to look for a gender reassignment surgeon, I wrote several doctors both here in the US and in Thailand. Some responded, others I have yet to hear from. I found a link to Piyavate Hospital from a girl who had FFS done there by a doctor whose name is Dr. Saran Wannachamras. I decided to write to his office for information about SRS. I received a response within a few days. His assistant, Ying, asked for information about my health and if I had seen doctors for gender dysphoria which I had. I emailed copies of all my records to Ying and within a few days I was accepted as a candidate for SRS. All I had to do now was get my travel papers, passport, letters of travel to Thailand for SRS and various other records and set a date.
I set the date for August 16, 2006 to leave for Thailand and was informed I could have my surgery on the 17th of August. The date I sent my first letter was rather early in the spring and it seemed at first I would never get everything done. I received my passport on the 3rd of July and now all I had to do was wait and yes worry about the flight over seas. I had never been outside the US in my life.
When the date to leave finally arrived I had many doubts that I could actually get on the plane in Boise to leave. But with the support I received from Dr. Saran and my family I left Boise at 10am. Twenty six hours later I was in Bangkok. Dr. Saran’s driver met me at the airport and I was transported to Piyavate and given a room for that evening. We had arrived at 11:05pm Bangkok time.
I saw Ying and Dr. Saran the next morning. Many questions and concerns were answered to my satisfaction. There was not a question too trivial that was not answered. After that I started signing papers for my surgery.
Every staff member was considerate and very understanding of my disabilities. They so very patient with me and all the questions I asked. My surgery was set for 7pm that evening. They did all the prep work and I was moved to a pre-op area. I was told I would see the doctor at about 5pm. Dr. Saran came in and asked if I were ready. He gave me every effort to decide if this was the path I wanted. There was no pressure to commit and I was finally moved to the operating room where I met my SRS team. While the doctors were telling me what was going to happen I looked up and Dr. Saran was standing over me. I could see his beautiful smile even though his protective mask. I knew I had made the right choice.
I slowly went to sleep and about 3 ½ hours later I awoke in what I can only describe as an intensive care area. I was asked, as I remember if I knew where I was and I must have answered correctly. The next thing I remember is being in my room on the 11th floor. I was moved the next day to the 10th floor where I stayed for the 5 days in recovery. I had nurses coming in and out all the time to check on me, very different for stateside hospitals. I believe at any one time I had 5 nurses helping me. I was well cared for. When they found out I could not eat Thai food, Ying helped me write out what I could eat and how it had to be prepared. It became very basic eggs and ham types of breakfasts, light spaghetti for dinner.
On the 5th day Dr. Saran took out my packing for the neo-vagina and everything was healing quite nicely. He took the time to show me all the different parts of my new genitalia. I was quite excited to see everything was in order. The swelling was of my most concern, but my fears were laid to rest that moment.
I was then moved to the hospitals suite which is attached to the hospital. The rooms were very clean and quiet. I spent a total of 16 days in Bangkok and only the lack of monitory resources kept me from staying longer.
Bangkok is a mix of a modern metropolis and a farming community. Its beauty is everywhere.
I closing this letter I would like to thank everyone involved who helped me through the language barriers and my own fears. I would recommend Dr. Saran and actually have on several occasions since I got back home. My roommates are going to see Dr. Saran when it is their time for SRS and I have talked with several people by email who is considering Dr. Saran for SRS.
In conclusion I trust Dr. Saran with any decisions for any type of plastic surgery from the simple removal of a mole to SRS. I my opinion he is the best and he treats his patience holistically. I will use his services again in a heart beat.

| "A fantastic SRS experience
First, I would like to thank you and your staff for an enjoyable time while visiting Thailand and a wonderfully successful SRS operation. I really did not know what to expect once I left the plane and arrived in the airport. I called the contact number given to me before I left, and the consultant was already there waiting for me. We met and soon were on our way to the hotel. I very quickly felt comfortable with Ying and had a great conversation with her and was there in no time. She helped process me in and I was made welcome by the entire employee’s there. It was somewhat late so she said she would be back in the mourning and we would start with the in processing. Wow, I was here in Thailand and just two days away from my SRS surgery. I settled in and tried to sleep, but got only a few winks in. In the mourning, Ying stopped by and we got busy with the Hospital registration. Did you know that the Hotel and the Hospital are all in the same building? It made for an easy and proficient stay there and was a total of just 2 weeks. After just a few hours and many hellos to all the Hospital staff, we were done. I was let go for the rest of the day and as always was asked if I ever need anything, to just ask. Now, if you would like to go site seeing, you just get there a few days earlier and still stay in the same Hotel. I took the rest of the day to myself to enjoy some down time after the flight all the way from San Antonio, Texas. I think I slept for a good twelve hours and as the surgery was tomorrow, I just wanted to relax a little bit. I awoke on the 16th April, my date with destiny, and had a little time to call friends and family to check in with them. I soon would be meeting with Dr. Saran and my pre-surgery exam around noon. I meet with Dr. Saran and felt very comfortable with him right away. He reassured me that all would be wonderful and the outcome would be super. And it was. The exam went well and all was set for the afternoon time slot. I went back to my room to gather up my things so I could be moved to the Hospital wing. The Tenth floor Ward is very organized and efficient. I checked in and was prepped for SRS in a few hours. I was ready to go. I was wheeled into the op room and prepped for surgery. It’s time. I took a few breaths and soon awoke the next day. Wow, was it all over with? The nursing staff was right there assuring me everything went great and that I was a girl with a vagina now. I was tended to very well all week while I was in the ward and even got to visit with some of the other girls soon after they came out of surgery. I even made a few friends along the way. The doctor always stopped by and the consultant kept in touch to see if I needed something. I was walking around after two days and done with the catheter after five. The next day, I was back up in the Hotel room on the twentieth floor. Once back upstairs, I received coupons for breakfast and dinner. They came in handy for room service and I was able to save some money for a shopping mall visit downtown. I can say this; the treatment and service are second to none. Everyday, I got stronger and stronger and visiting the restaurant twice a day, with a stop in to see the new girls, was great too. I visited with the Doctor many times during the second week at his office, and he explained everything in detail how to care for and keep clean the new equipment between my legs. My time in Thailand went very quickly and soon I was ready to fly back home. All went so well and the ride to the airport by Ying was great, she wished me luck and I was off. I arrived home and contacted them once back to let them know I made it home safely. We stay in contact and I give them updates from my local doctor on my status. All is great and I recommend Dr. Saran to anyone that is looking for SRS. Thank you so much for a memorable experience and God bless.

| "I had liposuction done by Dr. Saran and had the surgery done at Piyavate Hospital. If you are interested in getting liposuction or any other cosmetic surgery procedure done I would suggest that you stay at the Piyavate Hospital. Their facilities are excellent and nursing care is amazing.
I contacted Dr. Saran through his web-site and was taken care of by his very efficient Client consultant Ying. She made all the arrangements for me (Hospital, airport pick-up/drop, visit to Dr. Saran’s clinic). Ying is a warm and wonderful person genuinely caring for Dr. Saran’s patients.
A few things about liposuction: BE REALISTIC, if you are obese, over weight or just plain fat this procedure will not make you thin, slim like a model. Liposuction can only take out 1-1.5 kg of fat at a time you are still left to deal with the rest. Start with the area that is bothering you the most and then plan for the rest. Dr. Saran is more concerned with a patients health than actual aesthetics so he will probably give you a very safe plan for surgery. Listen to him!
Initially after the surgery you will probably find a very slight difference to your shape but with in days you will see yourself looking better.
Right after surgery there is pain and soreness and your whole body aches. For those who think they can go to work or travel with in a couple of days of surgery, better to change your plans.
Be prepared to wear a compression garment all the time for the first week and also be ready not to be able to shower for a week. Both things can be very uncomfortable specially since Bangkok is hot and humid and I wanted to see as much of it as possible!
I managed to see a bruise free abdomen after 11 days of surgery and the soreness was better after one week. However, I realized that a lot more work still needs to be done!
All I can say is if you are planning to have liposuction or any other plastic surgery done Dr. Saran is the man to go to. His office will take care of all your needs while you are in Bangkok and you will have a great stay.
I plan to re-visit for further sessions in 3-6 months time.
